I didn’t intend to homeschool…

I didn’t intend to homeschool.

Not in a million years.

I believed what everyone was telling me: you’re not a teacher, you don’t have the education, your kids will drive you crazy being with them all day.

Guess what?

They lied.

It is quickly becoming one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my entire life.

This day changed my life.

It changed the trajectory of how we now homeschool and live.

We are now lead by curiosity, wonder, awe, nature, stories and play.

All of us.

Anxiety and achievement have been replaced with ease, joy, laughter and creativity.

What my kids are learning, they’re invested in. They’re engaged and they will remember what they are exploring.

That is true learning.

A bin of water beads and sea creatures turned into weeks of questions, reading, meaningful conversations and art.

A bin of water beads and sea creatures got my kids outside for six hours a day.

Since this day, I have not been asked to turn on the tv.

This is the day we stopped trying to do school at home and opened ourselves up to more.

This is the day that our true adventure began.

This is the day we became wild and free.
